Fancy Excerpt Plugin For WordPress

The fancy excerpt plugin for WordPress replaces the default automatic excerpt generator with a sentence aware excerpt generator.

Before:

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing elit. Ut in sem eget est pharetra hendrerit. Nulla condimentum venenatis lectus. Cum sociis natoque penatibus et magnis dis parturient montes, nascetur ridiculus mus. Proin lacus. Aenean eget libero. Suspendisse volutpat nonummy magna. Fusce pharetra volutpat mi. Default Usage

Activate the plugin and enjoy.

When automatically generating an excerpt, WordPress will no longer cut your posts after an arbitrary number of characters. Instead, it will keep adding complete sentences until 200 characters or more are returned.

Frequently Asked Questions

It doesn't work!

It only works when you call the_excerpt() in your template by a means or another.

In particular, it will not work when you send trackbacks or equivalent to other sites.
